Squirrel with mange?

Hey y'all.
Do squirrels get mange?

I ask, because I have a squirrel living in/near my yard, that is missing hair on quite a bit of it's back.
However, the tail looks to be fully furred.
(I only got a quick look at it yesterday, before it scampered up a tree.)
If I can get a picture of it, I will.

I have never seen mange in squirrels before...nor have I knowingly seen this particular squirrel before.
 
There were a few like that at my inlaws as well. Not sure what happened. I'll have to try to remember the next time I see them.
 
This time of year they use their fur to line their nests for birthing little ones.Anyway that was what I was always told growing up. Every spring in South Dakota the squirrels always looked like that.
