which type of squirrels does everybody shoot? i shoot only grays and foxes. i shoot squirrels and plan on eating them so i don't shoot reds. shot one once and it had so little meat on it i said i wouldn't shoot them anymore. i also see black squirrels but i wont shoot them because they are kinda rare and i like to see them.

grays only. Will only shoot fox squirrels if I plan on mounting it.

I only got pine squirrels up here so I dont usually shoot them because I dont eat them! Did you do that mount yourself?

Squirrel hunting is one of my great pleasures. I also like eating them. We have Red and grey squirrels here. The older ones in either brand are usually tough to eat. They have to be boiled. The younger ones are tender enough for frying. After the leaves fall from the trees, I will be taking my dogs out every chance I get. I like taking young hunters and letting them have some fun. Here is a young grandson of a friend. This is his first squirrel hunt. Rocky has one treed and we are about to shoot it out.

I don't eat 'em. I don't like the taste. I'll shoot pretty much any of 'em I see, but I've never actually seen a fox squirrel around here, so it's mostly just grays.

How many of you guys use dogs? I never have. Never hunted them with a shotgun either. Always my pellet gun. Still lots of fun though.

Thought it would be cool to tree squirrels, wish I lived closer I'd give you a call to go. But I'll stick to the kitty cats up here!
