Stand Survey

This is for everyone using tripods. I am curious how many people sit and how many people stand when scanning and shooting. Please reply with either "sit" or "stand" and add comments if you want to explaining why.

Thanks and Happy New Year!

For me it really depends on the stand. There are places where the only way to call an area is to stand, for me a tripod mounted rifle is great, juggling a rifle and remote using tall cross stick is not very successful for me. Most of the time I shoot off a stool with cross sticks. They just give me more freedom of movement. I am experimenting with a tripod and stool to see if it is anymore accurate at longer ranges. We have very long strips of grass between waist high sage and greasewood that it might bee advantageous to use a tripod sitting.

Sit on a turkey hunting chair and my rifle is on a bi-pod, facing the general direction of the decoy/e-caller. Until a coyote shows up, I'm sitting still and scanning with my eyes. Daytime only hunts.

Always sit daytime. Night hunting I’m typically standing behind tripod but do have stands that allow me to sit on a stool behind tripod. Probably 75% standing to 25% seated shooting at night.

Sit.

Daytime hunter only. Small folding stool with back rest.
Bad knees will not allow me to stand for long periods of time. By sitting, this allows me to change locations easily since my knees were at rest.

Started out sitting at night then switched to standing as I have better mobility to take extreme right/left shots. Also when sitting scanning with night vision binos the fiery illumination of grass and twigs is awful.
