Stealth Cam Question

I just purchased the Stealth Cam STC-1430IR.

My question is this as follows;

My IR only has two settings......on or off. It does not have the IR-Auto option like it says it does in the book. Am I doing something wrong and just cant find it? If I put it on the IR setting then with daytime photos or photos in the light you cant see anything. Its too bright. If I turn it off when the light is low you cant see anything in the pic because its too dark.

Can anyone help me out?

Here are some pics so you can see what im talking about.

These were taken on Low quality with the IR on and the light off. These would work good at night.

These were taken with the IR on and the light on. These dont seem like the would work in day light.

Now....these were taken with the IR OFF and the light on which would be good for day time.

These were taken with the IR OFF and the Light OFF also.

So neither setting of IR-OFF or IR-ON seems to work both in the light and in the dark. Both settings work either with light or in the dark.

In my book it says there should be an IR-Auto but my machine wont take me there.

Is this just in the wrong section or does no one know?

Hello,

First off, I don't own a trail camera. I found the following on the trailcampro.com website.

IR Emitter Mode Control:
The camera is pre-programmed with Auto IR Emitter setting.
• Switch the camera to ON position.
• To turn off the IR Emitter mode, press the [UP]
button once within 30 seconds. icon will
appear on the top of the screen.
• To turn on the IR Emiiter mode back to Auto setting, press the
[UP] button the second time. icon will appear on the top of
the screen.
If no buttons are pressed after 30 seconds, the LCD screen will
power down to conserve battery life and enter 1 minute count
down to enter PIR detection mode.

The original can be found here:

I hope that helps you get it back into Auto Mode.

I have tried that.....with no luck. I have been calling their customer service number for 3 days and its been off the hook. If I ever do get any nice pics I will post them.

WOW......I feel like a goober.

My machine does not have the lightening bolt with the "A" next to it but the on mode means auto also.

When I took the thing outside it worked perfect. I think that because I was testing it inside that there was just too much light from the bulbs and white walls......made it over expose the pics. It works perfect. lol
