Reading the thread below about Burris' customer service reminded me of just how well Steiner took care of me on a pair of Bino's. I had never owned a really good pair of binos, always those 39 dollar Bushnells or Jasons. Finally my wife at the time told me to go get me a good pair of binos so I did. Bought me a pair of Military Marine 8x30's and absolutely fell in love with 'em. Anyway, about 3 or 4 months later I was over at my friends farm where I bow hunt and I was on the tractor mowing some logging roads and other trails for making it easier to get in and out when walking in in the dark. Well I was about done and Ron drove up and ask me to mow some of the other trails that we used for hayrides with our church. No problem. So I mowing along and come up on some downed thorn trees across the road. Well I get off the tractor and I had my binos with me incase I jumped some deer while mowing. Anyway, with the binos around my neck they were getting in the way of clearing out the brush so I took 'em off and sat em up on the rear tractor tire. You can probably see where this is going. Get back on the tractor and continue on down the trails and get about a quarter mile away and remember the binos. Chit. Drive back down there and sure enough there they layed................in about 30 pieces. Ran smack over 'em with the brushhog and absolutely obliterated 'em. I pick the pieces back up and finish up and head home. Told the wife what had happened and she just said well, guess you need a new pair. Cool. Well I decided to box up the pieces and send 'em back to Steiner and tell them how much I really liked their product but they just aren't tough enough to stand up to a brushhog. Thought maybe they might send me a coupon for 20 percent off my next pair. About 3 weeks later the UPS man shows up with a box. Inside is a brand new pair of Military Marine binos. I've been a Steiner fan ever since and I tell this story every time someone ask me about whats a good brand of binos.
