So my impressions.

The main complaint I've heard about these is "big and heavy", so, when I got the demo unit, I was "shocked" that the size and weight were much less than I expected. That's 8.5" long and 36 oz (2.25 lbs) WITH batteries. So, that's actually aligned with many thermals on the market out there. I think the loud hollers were probably, mostly the "gucci" club used to skeets and such. But IMHO these are NOT "big and heavy". The PAS-13 is BIG ... the EOTECH ELR is HEAVY (but even it is not as heavy as I expected).

The image was really good - excellent for PID out to ~300yds, then started tailing off a bit. 2x optical magnification on the front end and usable up to 4x digital (8x net).

The big plus of this unit is the sale price of $2,800 for a 640 unit that MSRP'd at $6,600.
