Stevens 200 trigger replacement???????

few questions for you.....

what do you plan to do with it?
hunt or bench?

hunt: http://shootersdiscount.com/cart/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=762

bench: http://shootersdiscount.com/cart/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=763

top one is really easy to install and is a good trigger for the money.....better than factory trigger in adjustability and pull weight

bottom one is a little more involved, but is very light and crisp

there are more out there, jewel, timney and so on...but these are the ones i use and work for me

If I were going to replace a Stevens trigger I would get the Sharp Shooter Supply trigger for Savage rifles. I have heard tons of good reports on this trigger.

Just and FYI you can adjust the trigger on hte Stevens rifles in about 10 minutes start to finish all by yourself. Take hte stock off adjust one screw and you are set up. It makes a huge difference in the trigger pul and the feel of the gun.

Ditto on the SSS trigger. Its about a 30 min. project

I have 3 SSS triggers in my earlier model Savages. And, friends I know have at least 6 more in theirs. But, the weight limitations are about 12 oz. to 2 lbs. So, if you want a heavier trigger, you may want to talk to Fred Moreo before buying one. The Stevens 200 uses the original SSS trigger, which is different that the one made for the current Savages.

Fred at Sharp Shooter Suppy sells triggers for both the old style and replacements for the accu-triggers . I wont buy anything else .
Stock Stevens triggers are easy to adjust . You also can buy lighter springs for them .
Slenk

I had two, one I put a timney in and it was awesome. The other one I just adjusted the stock trigger and it turned down to about 3.5lbs but that was all I wanted in the 270. Either way it was very easy to do.

I haven"t gotten it yet. Maybe I'll wait until it gets here and decide what I want. This is going to be a hunting rifle used with gloves so I don't want a REAL light trigger. I'll have to check out the stock trigger first. Didn't know about the springs and adjustment.
Thanks all.
