Still practicing lanyard making

Here's the latest THO inspired lanyard. Yesterday I decided to make one that could hold the Foxpro remote and two predator calls. I also hunt waterfowl so I decided to double the call loops to hold 2 two piece duck calls and the clip at the bottom can hold a dog whistle while hunting waterfowl. Kind of a dual purpose lanyard, eh? Each lanyard is getting a little better. If I had all my fingers this would be easier.

Weas – That looks real good!! Really, it does!!! But you got some wires crossed somewhere, ‘cause you ain’t supposed to have a dual purpose lanyard! Now that you got it figured out, make a special lanyard JUST for those quacker calls. That way when you run out the door at the last minute you won’t have to sit and wait at the local antelope crossing removing calls and putting other calls on. You can even put labels on the lanyard so you know which one to take. Heck man, if your not sure which lanyard to label what just send it to me with calls attached, pre-paid return mail and I will label them for you. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Dang, those look good. How much spare time you got, anyway?

Send them to you? No way! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif I wish I could take better photos. Those two calls are THO masterpieces. How much spare time do I have, you ask? All of my time is spare time. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Really nice Weasel.

I'd like to see a closer picture of that call on the right. I don't believe I've seen it before and it looks like a real beauty.

Weasel,
Looks like you are really getting the hang of it. Are you using the 4 strand braid or the 3? I wish I had a camera so I could show off some of the ones Ive been making. Keep up the great work.

It's a purty one alright! This one is Bocote. I also have a similar one in Cocobola that will make your heart go pitty-pat.

3 strand. I don't have enough fingers to do 4 strand. I did try it though. I couldn't even get it started. I'm trying to encourage my wife to give it a try, but so far she has no interest.

what happened exactly? I tried finger wrestling with a table saw at work and it whooped my butt. but is till have em all just the trigger finger is a little touchy. when it gets cold out I need to have constant heat on it or it gets so stiff I can't bend it. and that aint a good thing.

Yeah, tell me about it. I played with things that go boom. I actually have more of my fingers than shown here. They're in bottles of alcohol and I keep them in a drawer. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I have tried lanyard making myself. Can't find any info or pictures to help.Weasel-UT I have the same problem with my left hand as you. I tangled with a 300 ton press, didn't loose any fingers but can't straighten them out. Doc put them in the shape to hold a beer bottle. Been like that for 25 years. Cold doesn't bother them now, much.

I guess I am lucky then I still have mine just don't bend like they should and no feeling. mainly the thumb and index from the first knuckle to the tip on the right hand. I am learning to use the index finger more just half the knuckle was cut away with the saw blade. so no support the one way. if ya want weasle i will post pictures.

Bent to hold a beer bottle. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Very handy!

Pictures? Did you say pictures, Ben? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif
