I want a new gun but can't decide which i want. im aware that the 2000 is a semi but here in pa i can only have 2 shells in a semi at one time, with a manual op. gun i can have 3 so it kinda equals out. can i get the 2000 in 3 1/2" or is 3" the max? which is the best gun overall? and all i see are msrp's are but can some of you give me the price you paid for each gun? i appreciate it, thanks

Get the Stoeger and never look back. They are made by the same company and unless the name Benelli is what you want. I would rather have one well designed semi auto then a pile of Supernova's! But haven't seen one Supernova that wasn't a pile.

i keep hearing that people are having problems with the stoger and the franchi. i personally have a benelli cordoba 30 inch, and it works with almost every ammo i shoot, and is a great shooting gun. i would spend the couple hundred extra and go with an M2. and the bbl length is about the only reason i didnt get an m2

as someone who owns both a benelli super black eagle 2, and a model 2000 stoeger...they are both excellent guns. I KNOW this because I OWN and SHOOT them both quite regularly. I am not a fan of the pumps, because I dont own a benelli or stoeger pump, nor do I know anyone who does...so I cant make a comment on that part...

hearsay is the root of all evil when it comes to performance of equipment.

The old " I know a friend who has an uncle who had a problem with his...." doesn't carry any weight with me at all.

I also have a Stoeger M2000 and it's been very reliable. That thing just flat works everytime. I shot next to a guy at the range last week that had a brand new just out of the box Stoeger M2000 camo and it functioned perfectly.

The thing that is disconcerning to me here, is the statement to, only allowing 2 rounds total in a semi loader and 3 in a pump action........That one leaves me scratching my knoggin' /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

The Benelli Super Nova is an outstanding firearm, I had one and gave it to a good friend. It shoots 3.5" rounds and will beat you like a red headed step child. My M2000 is a 3" gun only and I'm not real sure if the new model M2000's are 3.5" so I would look seriously at that. I wasn't interested in a 3.5" gun so I never questioned the 3.5" option.

Stay away from the Stoeger M2000, it's really cheap, cheap, cheap...AND its a blow-back action, shoot one box of 3 inch mag in it, and believe me , its something you will not forget soon !
BUT, if you hunt 2-3 days in a year, and fire 1 box ..it's another story.
I dont like Pump, But the Nova is a whole world in front of the 2000.
IMO

I've shot a bunch of 3" mag stuff thru mine and that cheap, cheap, cheap blow back action...you mean intertia recoil designed action, aka Benelli M1 action...... Right? Well it is something you won't forget.....cause it keeps right on firing and firing and firing and firing and firing and.........I shoot mine from a laydown blind during goose season and while kickin' up pheasants, it simply works, works, works /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

The stoegers are a very good bang for the buck. Just keep them (and any benelli) oiled up on the outside and you won't have a problem. The beneli's are notorious for having thin bluing and rust very easily. The Stoegers come out of the package a little rusty and just take some good cleanup to look nice.

They are inertia driven also.

I have a Winchester SX3 that i've come to love. But that's another topic /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

i've got this shotgun 2 years,
The first year, was very good, no problem. But i really dont like the Rib...
At this time, Money was a problem and the only semi-auto i can afford was the Stoeger.
The Stoeger use almost the same mecanic of the Benelli Without the Quality.

I use it more than average hunter,
But the 2nd year, jam were a real problem, even taking great care of my shotgun... the gun was showing Premature Wear,
The excessive wear was noticeable on the Ejector and inside the receiver.
Today the shell base are in steel, and rub against the alloy receiver, that's the problem.
After that i bought a SBE, but really tire of strong headache after 2-3 box, Force to put a Mercury anti-recoil system in the stock, But adding this extra weight on the rear make a non-sense to me, You paid the hight cost for a lightweight, and force to put weight in it ! and the Swing was horrible..
Now i'm in the club of the X-3 too !
No regret..
