Streamlight TLR-1

So I just picked one of these up this weekend. Apparently the TLR-1 now has the new C4 LED in it, and a 135 lumen rating. For those of us hunting areas that are thicker, producing less than 100 yard shots.......why aren't more guys using these? It's just so easy to mount, use, etc..........I'm wondering why we don't hear more about these. I understand that a lot of guys want more light for the longer shots you see out west, but these really should serve the purpose for 100 yards and in pretty well.

I got to do some calling yesterday morning before sunup, and I was easily able to see 100 yards with this, and realistically you could probably get out to 125+ yards if you wanted and were on snow. I'm using a 3-9x40 Mark AR scope on my setup with the mil-dot reticle and I was able to pick up that reticle just fine with this light at under 100 yards. I had some deer in the yard the other night after I got this light, and was able to pick out eyes a good 150 yards away pretty clearly.

I also just ordered one of these Bushwhacker flashlight covers for it as well in Red, I'm curious to see if I can still get 50-75 yards out of this light with the lens cover. I really hope so because this is soooo compact, easy to use, etc........

I have been using one of these for all of this calling season and I love it. I only use it for a shooting light without a cover. I can easily shoot 175yrds looking through the scope on 9 power. I still use the lightforce for scanning and identifying but this little bugger works great as a (no cords) shooting light.

I'm guessing his is mounted on one of those scope tube clamps that has a picattinny rail to mount stuff on.

My light is on top of the picattinny rail that's on top of my gas block, works great and I can't see it through the scope even on 9x.

Here is a quick pic of my setup. Obviously I don't bring the bipod for calling sets, it's just a lot easier to take pics with it on there.........

It is just used for the shot. My hunting partners and myself have used mine to harvest over 20 animals this year and I am still on the same set of batteries. I would not call that short battery life.
This light uses a high watt LED not a halogen bulb..

looks like a good price..the coleman led for 29 dollars has as many lumens...and for the price i senn the cabelas led..gun light on a friends rifle..it is nice also...comes with the mount..

just because two lights have the same lumen "rating" does not make them the same light. i've seen 80 lumen lights out shine lights that are suppose to have 150. beam characterstic(sp) has alot to do with it. for a shooting light we want a tight beam, not a short range flood. thats the problem with alot of lights is they're bright but dont reach out to were we want to see.

i agree i put a 78 dollar led NO wire light along side one of the led lights being pushed today...and low and behold..there was no difference in the brightness....you stand correct...anyone can say there light is such and such..lumins lux,..etc..you just have to compare them...and remember coyotes,
foxes,etc...were killed for years without all these lumons..
the cabelas light in my opinion cant be beat by guy who want a good beam trouble free light for 100 dollars..my friend has a AR..and is a light junkie..ive seen most of them...or i wouldnt be posting...jmo
