Anyone have a good go-to or lead. looking for a vendor that has ( in-stock ) for Boltactin . 223 Remage ?
Looks to be a pile of vendors on-line with AR .223 barrels in-stock, but.. I not getting good search hits for in-stock on the shelf boltaction/shortaction .223 Rem. pre-fits .

I switching, going back to the boltaction 'again' from the AR, for Night hunting . Decided to get 'back to the basics' from where I started many years ago. back to .223 and 55 grain . have a spare chassis and scope laying around, so finding a pre-fit with a 12, 9 or 8-twist that in-stock would be icing on the cake.

Urban Rifleman out of Tulsa sells Wilson pre-fits. He's a regular on Accurate Shooter forum. His reviews are great and his prices are good. Might try him.
 
Urbanrifleman over at Accurate shooter would be my suggestion also. I use Northland Shooters also and I would call them about a availability, I'm getting ready to order a short fat Shilen 222 Rem with a custom throat and neck so I know I'll have a wait. I've never ordered an off the shelf barrel from anywhere so I always expect a wait.

Northland Shooters. They work closely with a gunsmith down the street from their shop, if you want an in-stock barrel cut or threaded etc it will get done the next day and ship out.
 
I've used Northland before and his barrels are good. I think he is still using Criterion blanks. Urban Rifleman does his own barrels, Wilson, in his shop. I've never used his barrels but did order Berger bullets and got them the next day. I can only comment on his reviews and haven't read a bad review yet. If I was in the market for a prefit and didn't want to go high end, I'd call Urban Rifleman. Don't hold me to it but I think his barrels are under $300 ready to install.

I figure like want go route of .. light palma, OAL 20" .. 5/8-24 threaded Muz.. SS lapped . . So figure i like to keep it all under 500-$, with chambered barrel, muzzle threading, barrel nut, and all shipped .thought i throw barrel on a old XLR fold/chassis that not getting used .
