It was a pretty slow day of calling today with temperatures pushing 50 degrees. We did manage to call in a double and get them both.
We got set up in some rolling hills and started up the call with nutty nuthatch. I had barely started the call and I caught movement on a hill about 800 yards out. It was a coyote and it was running my way and disappeared in the rolling hills. About a minute later 2 coyotes came over the hill on the run about 100 yards out. I got them stopped and shot one at 40 yards.
The other coyote took off running and after a miss on my part my buddy got him stopped at 270 yards and shot him. Double down
