Has anyone tried the hornaday superformance 55 gr. GMX? Wondering if anyone found it to be accurate out of a 1:8 tikka. It is on sale at grafs for 14.99, thuoght I might give it a go at that price.

Also looking at trying the 35 gr. NTX.

Stupid lead free law BS, ughhh.

Sorry.. I did get a 1:9 and tried the 53's and wow were they accurate.. So much so, that i am in no hurry to find a load. I don't think i could load better than the factory loads.

I watched my son shoot quite a few squirrels with the Hornady 223 Rem Superformance 35 gr NTX factory loads through a 1-8" twist AR-15. It was pretty impressive what those little bullets did to those squirrels.

I have reloaded quite a few of the 35 gr NTX for squirrels and shot them out of my 1-10" twist 223 Rem. They are working pretty good for me.

I have a Tikka T-3 lite 223 Rem that I had reamed out to 223AI and it has shot 40 gr to 62 gr lead free bullets very good.

I think I would buy some of those GMX loads at that price.

I'm shooting the 35gr Superformance NTX .222 in a Steyr Mannlicher, they are claiming 3760 fps, the .223 should be a bit faster. This thing is a tack driver with these, at 300+ yards it consistently shoots inside of a four or five inch circle in the field.

Like T-bone said, when a factory load shoots this good why reload? I save the brass and boxes and get enough for the once fired brass to pay for half of new loads. Good enough for coyotes.

Same great results here with an 18 inch 1:8

I LOVE the 40 Vmax on coyotes so I hoped the 35 NTX would perform similarly.

I struggled to get moa accuracy with my 35 NTX handloads from a 16" AR. Killed 3 Coyotes with it all under 50 yards. One bang flopped DRT no damage, the other two also dropped instantly but wiggled on the ground for over a minute before expiring. One of the wiggles was a solid broadside vitals shot, the other had a massive splash wound on entry (spine shot between the shoulders as he ran away).

The 35 NTX works, but I'm searching for something better.

I ended up getting some of the 55 gr. GMX, but haven't gone to the range to test yet.

I think I should also get some other lead free loads to test. Have any of you tried the federal ammo loaded with 43 gr speer tnt? Or maybe the Nosler custum ammo with 40 gr. BT?

I will also be testing cci 17hmr 16 gr tnt in my cz 455 and 22wmr cci 30 gr tnt in my cz 512.
