Suppressor cover

I don’t. The only time my shooting gets hot enough to be a problem, is over bait and our night time season doesn’t start until Dec. 1st. By then it’s cold enough to not be a problem.

IMO Mirage from a hot can is more of an issue with a daytime glass scope than heat seen in the thermal. Thin, light cans heat up quickly. My AB A-10 causes mirage in three shots (glass scope) and is the only one that wears a cover.

I have not shot enough rounds to make heat an issue with thermal...including sighting in.

I do not, was wondering about this just today when I saw the sale on them in my email from silencer central. I don’t hunt over bait only notice the glow occasionally after firing a couple times at one. I’m not sure it’s worth it… but it’s funny to find this on here as I was wondering the same thing, how worth it it may be.

I have two that does wear a cover and it's only for that exact reason, mirage.
Does it assist with thermals?
One would assume so, but I can't really weigh in on that. The other two plus's is one that a buddy pointed out covers a hot can from bumping skin, and protects the finish of the can ... which may not be important to some.

I looked back at recent video of sighting in new ammo, I think 6 shots were taken before this one and I notice no glow in the video. Now they were not fast shots, it was probably 50 degrees outside and there was probably 2-3 minutes between each shot. I can’t imagine just for the glow in the scope from thermal it would be worth it in my case. I do see the glow after I shoot a couple times closer together than this, but it seems to go away quickly. I don’t know how it stays fairly warm for several minutes but not super hot. Someone who has covered one it would be interesting to see video of 4 quick shots covered vs uncovered if you had to keep shooting.

I have two covers and never use them. I get some glow at the bottom of the thermal after shooting, but it does not affect my view.
Even shooting steel, I don't use one. If there starts to be too much mirage, I just switch to a different rifle for a bit.
