Afternoon all,
Don't post much but read a lot....
Opinions ...... on to go caliber specific for a 250-3000 or just go the 30 caliber route and quit stressing.

thanks for your time
chris from nv.

Just to pile on, go with a .30 cal. I'm running one on a 7mm and have used one on a 6mm before with good results. I'll be adding another .30 soon that will primarily be for a 6x45.

A while back when I was converting my hunting buddy to suppressors. I used a heavy older designed huntertown krestel 9mm rated for 308 to illustrate a rimfire with a suppressor.
As we was shooting 22LR glad I chose the user serviceable Huntertown can vs my sealed cans.

Because of volume in the can, the 22LR standard velocity was producing nothing more than the sound of the firing pin with the impact noise on target.
Accuracy well the bullet drop was 2 -3 inches at 75 yards from a unsuppressed zero. (weight of the can)

Only reason to dredge this up is the R2 "might" exhibit the same in the accuracy department, although I don't think no where near as much. As the Huntertown is 2 to 3X as heavy as the R2 . Then maybe it won't only way to tell is to try it.
17HMR while a rimfire and is considered dirty, is not as bad as 22LR. Using a actual jacket saves the lead transfer that most complain about.

Which is the quietest suppressor for 17hmr?
Don't have a real good answer, having to wait on the approval of a OCL Titanium .22 which is rated for 17HMR.

The other one that looks like good choice is the AB Little Bird.
I really like the Little Bird's design with the threaded baffles being the ability to be moved to change the tone levels. As well as to act as a self cleaning when the baffles are removed.
(actually found out they are the actual supplier's for the CZ offering using the exact same design of a threaded baffle)

Maybe the much touted pew pew science web site is in order, To get close to the question?

When I purchased the OCL rimfire offering it wasn't one of my first choices. It was available on the shelf, while there was other cans, it was one of the five I had narrowed down.

Had the AB Little Bird been on the shelf, I most likely would have chosen it. Jessie's Girl is another can I find interesting as well as the OCL I chose.

Little Bird which was offered by AB and CZ at one time. Currently I think it's just AB offering this external can.

CZ's internally suppressed barrel (452 I think)

As one can see the design is actually the same, just the outer tube is different, and naturally the baffle dimensions may differ a bit.

Just a thought for consideration, none of the cans may or may not meet your expectations.
The R2 by itself yeah I think it would work for both. I mention the Rimfire cans because you may desire at a later date to have two. The R2 may very well be the only can you need. But no one can make that choice but you.
