Suppressor timing

Can't find this info anywhere. How to ensure the suppressor is square/timed to the barrel. Don't want to have a baffle strike. Is there something special that has to be done (Washers or such), or do you just screw it on and shoot? I get the how and why of the adjustable gas block, so that is not an issue.

Would it be a issue to even worry about if you have a good smith thread your barrel. He should make sure the face where the silencer meets is true and square. I am not sure so I thought I'd ask.

Timing is more of an issue for a can equipped with a Muzzle brake or flash suppressor, for example, I have a 416 can (Elite Iron Windtalker) that had to be center punched top dead center on the thread nut for the suppressor manufacturer to build the can on, primarily making this can repeatable and always have a POI that is vertical not horizontal, (if any at all) which is easier to account for IMHO.
You shouldn't have to worry about timing otherwise, most reputable smiths will machine your threads and shoulders squarely and you can should shoulder up well enough there is clearance around the projectile while traveling through the can...
The Adjustable gas block is for blow back relief so if you are getting stove piped rounds, or a violently cycling action, you can make proper and necessary adjustments to reduce the amount of gas that's causing the issues.

A good GS can do concentric threads on your barrel.
for timing of a brake, each Manufacture has its on method. Some use peel washer, others use washers of different thickness. As stated some have a notch or Tab that has to be in a specific place.

As long as thread are cut to Class III specs and concentric you'll have no issues.

mount your suppressor and take the bolt out of the gun. Look through the barrel from the chamber and you should not be able to see any of the suppressor. If that is the case you are good to go.
