Suppressors at what point do we trust our bullet choice?

Question for all of you suppresser users when you are trying new bullets and speed combos and possible bullet failure due to twist rates when do you trust using your suppressor ?

What crapshoot said. Although, I don't tend to push loads to where bullet failure might happen.
I meant more about twist rate and bullets that may be on the edge failure for that particular bullet and how people test number of rounds to judge dependability when you are starting out with a new bullet choice

I understood your question. I'm in the same boat as wildcat I guess. I don't have any calibers that would push any bullets that I may use to the brink of self destruction. I guess if I did, I'd either opt to back it down, change bullets, or just shoot unsuppressed.
But accidents can happen at any time I guess.

Definitely value your opinion I just built a 22 creedmoor 1in7 some say might not be stable with 75 gr projectile thinking how many rounds I should test to know those projectiles will be ok

As crapshoot said, use a different bullet or shoot unsuppressed until you know if the chosen bullet will work. Is the 75gr bullet in this situation prone to failure or just unstable ?

No experience with this weight bullet rumors of bullet failures so I was seeking peoples advice on how many rounds they fire before they deem a bullet as suppressor safe

I don’t reload and don’t know if this is what you mean, but any time I try a different bullet, I’ll remove the suppressor and fire a round into a target just to make sure I have a perfect hole and not something that’s oblong.

The more you shoot the less safe you will be due to barrel wear. Bullets tend to come apart quicker as barrels wear.

If there are rumors of bullet failure, why mess with it. There are plenty of good bullets out there.

Easy enough for calculate bullet rpm, check with bullet manufacturer. Final step on "ify" bullet/barrel combinations, send a few without the can during worse case environmental conditions.

RPMs is but a small % of what causes bullets to fail, and it's almost never repeatable. This has been tested again and again.
You need land/groove geometry and barrel length issues in conjunction with RPMs over mfg suggestions.

That said, I always send at least the first round down range without a can

75gr bullet is likely fine in 1/7. Bulk of Service Rifles are 1/7 & 1/8 with 75, 77, 80 gr bullets the standard for use to 600 yds, launched around 2700+. That said, I have seen a handful of Hornady 75s go poof in a grey cloud about 40 yds from the line. I'd say if you should a few dozen of whatever bullet at 200 yds, and they all arrive as planned, put the can on & develop a load.
