Does anyone use a surefire light for night hunting? What surefire light with a red filter would suggest? i would like to mount a surefirelight to the top of my scope for night hunting. does anyone make rings for this type of set up? Since most other lights that attach to scope are two bulky i hope the surefire light will be better. any suggestions? thanks

I am going down this path also. I have a g2 that I have ordered the p61 bulb from Ebay (120 lumens) for 20.50 including shipping.

I have heard of people using scope rings or buying a universal mount from TacStar to mount them (check out their website and also check EBay). One person notes that "I have a G2 Nitrolon mounted under the barrel of my M870 with a Tac Star Universal Barrel Mount #4. www.tacstar.com"

There is a great link from this sight that discusses this subject. Search for

"brightest flashlight that uses AA batteries" and you will find a ton of info

Blackbear, who markets his own super light, provides a ton of info. I recently bought a butler creek "blizzard" flip up scope cover to go over the surefire. that way I can die the scope cover red (with Dykem) and then flip up for white.

When you finish creating something, share a picture. I am always looking for new ideas.

smsnyder,
Welcome to Predator Masters! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I have a Garrity LED flashlight taped to the free-float tube of my Rock River Arms A4, that works very well and it has a red lens attachment. It looks so simular to a Sure Fire, but it's not.

I attached it with cloth camo tape and have had no problems with it moving. I puchased it at Walmart, back in sporting goods. Photo Bucket
