Sorry, I wasnt thinking, the 90 grainer came out after their reloading manual and i'm sure you already knew it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif . I checked Nosler's manual on the 90 grainers being the scriocco is a harder bullet like a partition but they do not have either choice of the powder you want to use. If they would have one of your powders listed, I would have called Swift direct and used this reference to get their advise whether to use the data I found. Its always better to be safe than sorry. I'll end up calling swift and the powder maunfactures direct to get their advise on powders and loads. My suggestion, call both powder manufactures direct and tell them what bullet you are reloading and they will tell you if your powder is applicable for your bullet and at the very least, they will give you a safe starting load. Talk real nice and will usualy give you a start and max load. If I get any info before you I'll post it if you can do the likewise.

vmax, sorry for the delay but i've been out bowhunting. I called Swift to day and talked to a lady who told me they only had one house load listed for the 90 grainer consisting of RL 22 at 42g with a velocity of 3000 fps...boy they were realy helpful. I next called Hogden/IMR and I talked to a tech on the phone who looked up spire point bullets and gave me loads of:

H380 start-38g velocity of 2892 End 40.5g velocity of 3060

IMR 4831 start 40.5 at 2858 fps finish 43.9g at 3050fps

H4350 start 42g at 3039fps end 44.5 at 3185fps

To tell you the truth I'm not impressed with any of these loads since remington i think is about 3200 fps with their factory loaded round and I'm pushing 3300 fps with 90g balistic tips. Well at least I wasted my money on the long distance calls instead of you. I'm going off of Noslers data book and if I have my eyes, ears, fingers, and toes left I give you my results. If you found out any thing different let me know.

Vmax, I tried my loads at the range yesterday and ended up only with one good shooter...IMR4831 at Nosler's max load of 44.5 grains. It didnt surprise me about this powder though, I have had tremendious luck with this powder out of my own 243 getting clover leafs at 100 yards with 90 nosler balistic tips with the same max load and with a hot load of the same bullet in 70 grains the group is sooo tight you barely can tell its a three shot group. I also know a another shooter with a 243 diameter wildcat pushing the evelope way hotter than me and hes shooing tighter than a drum as well. From what I've seen, the faster you push this powder in a 243 diameter barrel the better it shoots! The test rifle was my buddies 243 coyote with a scope I could barely see out of... a simmons 4.5x14 ATV that he is now replacing with a vx2 4x12 today. That ATV is the biggest P.O.S. It was hazy and blury but it got the job done. The coyote hasn't had any type of bedding work done to it and the trigger has been lightened a bit. I didnt have a trigger scale but I'd have to say around 3-3.5 lbs. I worked my way up in loads to make sure there were no signs of casing pressure...I didnt have any. I dont know what type of rifle your using but I suggest the same. I'm no pro, just someone that started reloading my myself about 4 years ago and do not want to be responsible for any out come so BE CAREFUL! I trimmed the cases to minimum length of 2.035" and seated the bullets at SAMI maximun length of 2.710" and used Federal 210 primers. Here are the powders I used and the group results at 100 yards...GOOD LUCK AND SAFE SHOOTING!

POWDER-GRAINS-100 YARD GROUP

H380-42G-1.2"
RL22-42G-1.3"
RL22-43.5G-2.0"
RL22-44G-1.3"
IMR4831-43G-1.2"
IMR4831-43.5G-1.1"
IMR4831-44G-1.25"
IMR4831-44.5-.4"

I have some of the noslers recorded velocities for some of the loads listed above. The H380 load was 3232fps, IMR4831 at 44.5 grains was 3240fps, and the RL22 at 42 grains I already stated in the above post at 3000fps.
