Switching from Eotech and Regular Scope

Do any of you switch back and forth from an Eotech to a Scope on your ARs? And is there a high quality ring system for the scope that would work on the rail and allow this? Would you feel comfortable not taking it to the range between changeouts. This would be for hunting trips while traveling.

A few months ago I bought a Vortex Viper 2.5-10x and put it in a Burris P.E.P.R. quick detach mount and decided to zero both the scope and my EOTech for 100 yards and see how well they held their zero. I went to the range and switched them out about 6 or 7 times and shot a 5 shot group each time and they held their zero perfectly. I was shooting consistent .75 inch groups with the scope and 1.5 inch groups with the EOTech. Any of the one piece mounts such as Larue, Bobro, American Defense, Burris, etc... should work. And yes, I would feel comfortable not taking it to the range between changeouts. As long as you remember which rail slot to mount it on you should not have a problem. I mounted both the scope and the EOTech so that I only had the first two rail slots visible in the back. Hope this helps!

I've used a couple of Quick Detach systems for several years in both competition and 'fun' shooting... Never had a problem with loss of 'zero' in the process...

I have a LaRue mount, a scope set up in Warne QD rings, as well as a couple of off-brand solid mounts and switch with my EO-Tech on a regular basis, depending on the specific needs..

The only thing I have to keep track of is which optic is sighted in for which rifle..If I change rifles with one optic, then I have to 're-zero' the optic to that rifle..

OldTurdle had a great point. I do the same thing without any problems. Quick detach mounts do a good job. I shoot one scope on two rifles. Why, buy two scopes. I can only shoot one at a time. You can have two scopes for one rifle. They are your toys so have fun.
