T/C Venture blued model discontinued?

Have always wanted a 25-06 and T/C made theirs with a 24" barrel. Also liked my Venture in 204.

Looked today on the T/C site and there is no sign of the blued rifles. They have a few regular calibers in the WeatherShield, the Predator models, and Compact.

Did T/C discontinue the blued venture?

God....I hope not! Love those rifles. My 270 and 22-250 are both lasers. One of the most overlooked, underrated rifles in my humble opinion. I handload for both of mine and don't even bother posting group pics because nobody would believe it anyway. LOL

I don’t know if they are or not but I hope they keep the blues version. They ARE the most underrated unmentioned rifle on the market. I have one in .243 and it’s flat out accurate. I’ve hit prairie dogs out to 500+ with 55gr SBKs.

it sure looks like they did. i have no idea why they would. of all the economy priced rifles it was the best one by far.

dropping it is a head scratcher.

I too have one in 204 and that rifle has given me my best 3 shot group ever at .12" @ 100 yards. Needless to say I like it quite a lot and the fit/finish is well ahead of everything else in its $ range. Great little rifle IMO

They're definitely very accurate, especially for the price. I just can't stand the magazines. They're so flimsy and my .223 only held 3 rounds.

I like the mag compared most the others I've tried, mine fits tight and is easy to remove. Mine is primarily a calling & crow rifle so 3+1 is good enough. In fact I usually just go with the 3 in the mag and I have a buttstock shell holder that keeps another 7-8 on the gun

ReadHas any of you venture owners tried the compass? It has the same 5r rifling and a lot of similarities. Looks like a great rifle as well, especially considering the sub $300 price here lately.

got a good deal on 2 compass rifles a few months ago. one was 6.5 creed and the other was 223.

the compass rifles are so far apart from the venture series that they should not even be used in the same sentence. total pos as far as i was concerned. never shot either one and they are both gone from my house now.

fit, finish, operation of bolt and most everything else on the gun sucked.

if t/c is going to discontinue a rifle, the compass should be the one. can not think of a current rifle being made that is bad as a compass.

Wow I'm surprised to hear that, I looked at one a while back and I thought it wasn't too bad but I didn't get to shoot it or test the trigger.

Not sure if they have discontinued the Venture as heard a whisper they may introduce a new Venture II by mid summer? I have both Ventures and Compasses and really couldn't see that much difference in the barreled actions, same rifling, Compass has 3 position safety like a Model 70 ! Both have excellent triggers ( Compass requires a 5 min mod) Ventures
Biggest problem is the bolt handle is TINY, poor design , impossible to get ahold of in cold weather with gloves???? However
Glades Armory has a tactical longer robust handle, that completely solves that problem! Honestly the biggest difference really
Is in the STOCKS , The Venture has a Tikka quality X braced forearm, that is light years ahead of 99% of the under $4/500
Guns, the rubberized Hogue inserts are 500% better than any of the molded in Checkering on all the other stocks! And more
grippy in rainy/snowy weather than any stock I own except my Sako 85 Finnlight , the Venture also comes right from the factory " pilar bedded" and even a Tikka does offer that! The Compass stock is a relitive to a Ruger American, Patriot, Savage
sorta, Extreame cost saver for the manufacturer, low end flimsy, twist the forearm all over the place , pretty hopeless stock!
However a Compass in a Boyd's laminate is a pretty darn NICE little outfit! It is obviously T/C answer to the American, but they brought it out 3 years to late?? At $299 with a $75 rebate (if you file online you can have your money in less than 2 weeks!) It is the best value out there. My 22/250 shot moa right out of the box, in the Boyd's stock it shoots .5" all day long.

I picked up a new 204 yesterday in this exact model. Couldn’t pass it up for the sale price of $399.. add in the rebate and after taxes the gun cost $350. Now just to get the barrel threaded. The 1:10 twist was the selling point over the rugers 1:12. I just hope it is as light out as all the reviews say.

Very well put Whelen, the venture stock is good enough that it really doesn't need replaced at all. One thing I really like is the barrel profile, IIRC it measures close to .65" at the muzzle which is roughly the size of rugers "heavier" barreled predator model. Also I like how it has very little taper , almost like a mini bull barrel profile.
I just wished they had more models , the predator model is very nice but it's just camo and a fluted barrel, I'd like to see them add some options similar to the Ruger American line as the quality of the Venture is much better than the American.
FXred I bought my 204 for the same reason, it's been amazingly accurate with anything I put in it. I think you'll be pleased

Yeah it was a great day.... Also got 100 rounds of Fiocchi 40 gr vmaxs for $45.. I have no idea why they were $22 a box...
