Looking for an inexpensive spotting scope to use at the range while target shooting.Mostly for 100,200 and 300 yard shooting.I've seen Tasco 20X60X80mm ones on ebay for around $140. are they any good?Does tasco make a good scope for that price? Appreciate hearing from anyone that has one.thanks

I've had one for years..paid less than $100 at the time as I recall and that included a Tasco 17EB tabletop tripod, both made in Taiwan. Matter of fact used at the range this morning. Never used mine beyond 200 yards and doubt my old eyes could see bullet holes at 300 with the best scope made.

Got my monies worth as have had since at least 1980. Did buy a cheap case which has probably contributed to it's long life..and the fact I haven't lost it.

I bought a Celestron Ultima 80 a couple of years ago..much better scope, IMHO but more money.

I'd buy the Tasco again now because of my long experience but at the time was what I could afford, YMMV.

9" straight eye piece Winchester 20-50x50mm spotter is a good & rugged little spotter. They generally sell for around $110.00. Sportsman Warehouse in MN, use to carry them. Don't know if they still do. But I've seen them advertized on ebay.

I would stay away from the Tasco line. The Winchester mentioned above is a good LITTLE scope if small and light is important to you. Clear enough to use at 100. I'm not sure about 200 or 300.

The Burris is also a good choice for under $200 but get the Landmark not the cheaper model. Again it will work fine for 100 yards. Do not know about the longer ranges.

Good luck

My dad recently gave me a tasco that he has had for around 15 years and it works just fine have used it for range shooting with the swift out to about 150 yards a little hard to see in the low light conditions but other than that its awesome in my opinion
