I've seen good ones and bad ones over the years, but I could say that about most brands. When you find a good one, you hang on to it. The only one I have left is the Raging Bull shown in my signature. The only reason I have it is that it shoots as good, or better, than any Smith or Ruger 44 Mag I have ever owned. It is the exception and not the rule, as Taurus revolvers go, in my experience. The lockup is as tight as any Smith, and the trigger almost as good as a Smith. The Raging Bull is a very robust revolver and your not likely to get better for the price. No, it's not as nice as a Smith, but it can take more abuse.

I have had a few Colt Diamondbacks and 2 Pythons that were clearly better on average than either. I did have one Smith K-22 Masterpiece that was THE best of them all.

I don't have much experience with the Taurus Autos so I'm no help in that department. I doubt that I would give up my Sig P226 for any 2 of them.

The state of SD got a bunch of .22 rimfire Taurus a few years ago for some of the fish and game officers. Three of

them I looked at were sent back with problems. I heard that they were replaced with new ones that have worked great since.
