TC contender won't open....

A friend put a 41 mag barrel on his Older TC contender frame( normally uses a 22 magnum barrel)
and cannot get the barrel to release and open
the 41 barrel is a g1 barrel also....

anybody with experience in TC contenders that cann offer some help/suggestions of things to look for.....
he said he can get the hinge pin back out but still cannot get it to open....

It's been awhile but I think you need to remove the trigger guard and then you can get at the locking lugs. Maybe someone can confirm.

Not sure myself, but Edstc.com and Bellmtcs.com are 2 known TC specialty shops to check with - may have a FAQ area on their sites. Good luck, and let us know what you find out. I do understand that there were a few different generations of frame/bbl. set-up's thru the G1 years and some minor fitting diff's in some cases. Someone will be along soon that really knows what they're talking about!

Have your friend tap out the pivot pin with the barrel locked up. That should free it from the frame. Your friend will then need to replace the locking bolts on the barrel which he can get from TC. The newer split bolts will solve his problem.
