My brother picked up a beautiful condition Ted Williams semi-auto 12 gauge a couple weeks ago for 140 dollars, and now hes looking for turkey loads for it, I'm helping him in his search and had a question to ask for him.... Can he shoot high density (bismuth and the like) out of the variable choke on his gun? I actually told him probably not, because of when the gun was made, but didnt really know so I figured Id ask some more experienced people.

Most of those were equiped with Polychokes so a call to them would be the way to go.

make sure you pattern it. I had one for years. it shot way low. I mean, a slug aimed at a deers lungs went by its knees. a good 2' low.

weve patterned it with 5 and 6 shot, it actually shoots about 10 inches high, but its designed to, the vent rib is actually taller in the middle than at the muzzle, id imagine its for rising birds and clays....
