I just have a few questions about Texas.

1. Do u always have to pay to hunt on a lease or is there some kind of public land? (Mainly for predators but bowhunting too)

2. If u shot a coyote is the winter months in Texas will the fur be worht it to skin it?

Thanks for all of your help, I"m sure i wil lbe asking more questions.

texas is mostly privately owned but there is public hunting and yes most leases do require pay unless you can get in with landowners like most predator hunters do and that will gain ya access to other game animals to hunt for free if you show responsibility and care for some ones land

1. There is some public land (2% of the total land area of Texas. Most of this is in East Texas. There are 4 National Forests that offer deer and predator hunting. Hunter orange is required.

There is also what is know as Annual Public Hunting Lands. These require a $48 permit, and are made up of State owned WMAs, some leased public land, USA COE land and USFS WMAs. Species and methods allowed vary by area. Again, most of these areas are in the eastern half of the state.

2. Depends on what you mean by worth it. I got $3 for a couple of "prime" coyotes last year. I wouldn't call that worth it.
