That Awful Feeling

After cursing myself under my breath, I quietly moved the the rifle all the way back into the box blind and chambered a round in my AR as quietly as I could. To my surprise, the hog was still there. Unfortunately he started moving almost right a way and I had to take a shot as he was leaving. I don't know whether I hit him or not. Just can't tell from the video. No blood, but he was a pretty big boar so he could have just been bleeding out inside.

So annoyed with myself. Been trying to get this hog off a friend's deer lease for months. He finally shows up and I'm sitting in the blind with an empty chamber. Arrgghhh!

Not an AR, but a bolt gun I didn't chamber a round leaving the truck, because snow had crusted over(like walking on an ice rink). I didn't want to fall with a loaded chamber, walking near a house with people home. Setup on the tripod, walked the ecaller out. Started calling coyote shows up, hears the firing pin drop. Leaves on a run(about 100 yards away).

We have a coyote field we have nicknamed the click field, my hunting buddy has clicked twice on coyotes in that field. The second time, I started laughing so hard, I didn't even try to shoot. Never had a click but tried to pull a dead trigger twice in one night. That AR is now fixed.
