Just to start off, you're only going to spend about 15 bucks and maybe an hour or 2 making this thing, but it will work like a charm.
I just posted this in a different thread a second ago, but this deserves its own thread all it's own. Want to make one of the best decoys I've ever seen? First you go to amazon.com and look for a "Bumble Ball". It's an electronic toy that when turned on, wobbles, jumps and shakes all over the place. Paint the whole thing black. Then take some kind of rabbit-colored fur and either epoxy glue or sew the fur completely over it. I prefer to just pop a cottontail or two and epoxy glue their furs on it, so its that much closer to the real this looks and smell-wise. Then get a tail to attach to it, which you can get from a stuffed animal or just use a coyote tail from one youve shot(it'll probably be too big, so just cut the tail down to size. 6-8inches). Once you've put this together, you're not going to want the thing to wander off too far away from where you planted it, so I suggest to tie on some kind of a leash to it with a stake attached to it, giving it about 5ft of slack to move around.
I can't explain in words how real this looks when you have this little furry thing bouncing and shaking all over the place with its tail flailing around all over the place. And when you throw in some good rabbit distress calls while its shaking around, you've pretty much sealed the deal on making it look as real as possible. I'm going to make another one within a couple of days, so i'll try and post some pictures of it. Here's a link to the amazon page to buy the ball
