The Best Mid Price Range Varmint/Target Scope???

I'm wanting to buy two scopes for varmint/target shooting. They will go on Remington Classics in 221FB & a 222. I want a minimum of 6x24 power & fine to medium crosshairs. I need to stay in the price range of $350-$500. In your opinion, what's the best scope that meets these requirements?

The only 2 I've looked at so far are Weaver's. A 6x24 Classic V made in Japan & the 8x32x50 Classic Extreme, made in the Philippines, and sold by Natchez Shooters Supply.
Has anyone used one of these? Comments?

Thank you for your opinions & help,

Jim D

Shoot with some gents that are fairly serious shooters that own both Classic V and Classic Extreme scopes. They consider them decent scopes. One of them, if asked for a decent scope to buy that would not break the bank, would probably tell you to buy a Classic V. As to the 8-32x50 Classic Extreme, several of my regular shooting buddies bought it when Natchez first had it for sale to use them when our 400 yd and 600 yd shooting ranges were built. One had to return his for a problem with the windage turret before he mounted the scope and Natchez quickly replaced it. Only complaint each of them had about the scope was the extra long sight relief on them. In other words, all had to mount the scope as far forward as they could in the rings due to the long eye relief.

About a month or so ago a range buddy acquired one of the Natchez 6-24 classic extremes for one of his new rifle builds. He's another gent I shoot with on a regular bais that has quite a collection of various brand scopes and doesn't mind spending $800-$1,000 plus for one. He urged me several times at range to buy one. I looked thru his Classic Extreme and played with its adjustments. Have to admit, darn nice glass in it and liked the feel of its turrets.

While you didn't mention it..You might also look at the Burris 8-32x Burris Black Diamond...I've had one for several years and can't find fault with it...It's mounted on my .223 below and now rests on my 6.5 CM...

DGW, looked at Natchez today. 6x24x50 Weaver Extreme $289 & 8x32x50 for $319. Hard to pass that up even though they are cheaper line scopes.

Turtle, wish I could find a Black Diamond 8x32 reasonable. I've kicked my azz many times for selling mine. Awesome scopes!
