Went and saw the movie Cars the other night with the youngsters. Just thought I'd let you all know it gets two thumbs up from me! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gifIt's got some of that hidden adult humor that the kids don't get and Larry the Cable Guy is funny as usual. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Definatly worth going to see! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

That hidden adult content makes 90% of Pixars films worth my time.
"Bugs Life" was full of it. Actually "Toy Story" was too.

Took my girls to see "Over the Hedge" a couple weeks ago. Were gonna go see "Cars" this weekend.

Both of the "Shrek" movies were the same way as was "Monsters Inc." If you get a chance, watch "Hoodwinked" as well. Also a very well done movie suitable for all ages.

I took the Mrs. and my pups to see it Saturday. Great flick! The whole family loved it. It made me forget the $5.50 "discount matinee" ticket price tag, at least during the two hours the movie was playing. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Hmmmmmmmmm ... I heard it was NASCAR trash that should never made past the cartoon stage. Personally, I like to watch vehicles that can make more than a whole lot of left turns. I think I've seen about every Pixar movie ever made, enjoyed most of them and will probably be dragged to see this one, but to be honest, I'm not thrilled about the idea. And then there's Larry, The Cable guy. I find a lot of his stuff to be "funny and I don't care who you are, that there's funny". But I've been watchin' him on the comedy channels showing of the "blue collar comedy tour"s , I think there are 3 of the darned things. I must admit that after watching his act I don't enjoy him so much, he's a lowest common denominator potty humor type guy. I swear if we didn’t have butt cracks, the urge or need to go to the bathroom, or fart he wouldn’t have a darned thing to talk about. Now don’t get me wrong I love Jeff Foxworthy’s redneck jokes and about every thing else he does, I will even go out on a limb because I like Bill Engvall’s “here’s your sign” and other intelligent bits even better than Jeff Foxworthy’s stuff. But I’ve never had much tolerance for potty humor and I don’t care for the comedy styling’s of Ron White ……. Soooooooo, hey what are we talkin’ about ….. oh yeah, The movie “Cars”, for me “Larry, The Cable Guy” is not a big selling point.

Don't believe everything you hear/read, Michael. Personally, the film's plot had a lot less to do with NASCAR than I was expecting. In fact, some of the sub-plots are more than a little critical, or at least poke fun at, elements of the present NASCAR craze that seems to possess such a significant portion of the general public's attention. My soon-to-be 2nd grader can't get enough NASCAR and especially all things *gulp* /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif Jeff Gordon. He also claims to be a Yankee's fan /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif , but I still love him. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif Anyway, we talked about the movie afterwards, and the NASCAR influence never came up during the course of our discussion.
