Thinking of getting a new .22lr bolt action.

I got one of these a few years ago and it is my most accurate .22 rimfire by far. A lot of fun to shoot too.

The girl in the video is using the 5 shot magazine but mine came with a 10 shot mag as well.

But if you decide on the CZ then I can't fault you for that decision. A really nice .22 bolt gun it is.

I was thinking about a CZ myself but went with the Savage BV.It shoot's great but with the bull barrel is on the hefty side for a .22 Lr.Some dont care for the accu-trigger these come with but most CZ fans modify their triggers to.

I have a savage MKII heavy barrel and it shoots consistant 1.5" groups at 100 yards with Remington Thunder bolts.

Can't go wrong with a CZ. I have 5. Look for a 453 with the single set trigger. A little hard to find but worth it. Also the 452 Ultra Lux is a blast to shoot with it's 28.5 inch barrel and factory sights. There are a lot of great choices out there. You should handle a bunch of them and figure out which one feels best to you. Good luck!

Depending on what your doing with it.......
I command squirrel hunted with 22 my whole life so far and I put all the heavy ones in the cabinet and bought a Davy cricket awesome light don't get hung on brush and mine will shoot dime groups at 50 yards

Down side is single shot and loading port is for small fingers so takes me a little bit to get a shell in.

One positive is great was less than 150

The CZ 455 I purchased earlier this year shoots pretty well. The trigger isn't great and the bolt wasn't overly smooth either. I put a YoDave trigger kit in the rifle which helped the trigger a bit but it's still not great when the adjustable sears are available again I think I'll try one of them with a much lighter spring. I'm not a fan of the safety being backwards from all my other rifles either.

I do like the ability to quickly change barrels, I purchased the combo 455 American and the .17 HMR barrel shoots a good deal better than my .22 barrel. The .17 HMR is very close to being a MOA gun, the .22 is closer to 1.5 which isn't bad but it's nothing to write home about. The stock is pretty good and the bluing is decent. For the money it's not a bad rifle but unless you plan to swap calibers I think a Savage is a better choice.

You didn't mention budget so here is my take.

CZ 452/3 series. Winchester 52B. Remington 541 series.

I own several of each, and they plain shoot.

My limit is 400 on just the gun. Interchangeable barrel really doesn't matter to me because I just want a 22lr and I already have a 17hmr. Main purpose will be just plinking.

If I was going to get a bolt action 22 I would go with the Savage Mark II FXP.

If I was going to get a 22 for plinking, it would be a Ruger 10/22. You can't beat a semi for that.

Oh pysco that was dirty but funny all the same actually I got 2 heavy barrel one red white blue laminated and other one is grey pepper laminated and stainless both shoot great but onto the question at hand the savages are nice I have two of them also I do not own a rugar but they a great gun and plenty of upgrades that are just bolt on you can go from stock gun to race gun in no time and not unbelievably expensive.

You could probably find a nice condition 452 for around $400.

Call Whittakers, I think they're running a special run of them for something like $380 NIB

scoremaaster, couldn't resist. Glad you have a sense of humor as I was yanking your chain!!

OP. I have the Savage Mk II TR. Heavy fluted barrel but not threaded. Shoots amazing with most ammo.

Another vote for cz. I have a 22lr and a 17mach2. The 22 is stupid accurate with S&K subsonic HPs and the 17 will keep 95% of its shots on a nickel at 60 yds. I put a YoDave kit in both of them.
