Thoughts on a Bushmaster Predator

What are your thoughts on the Bushmaster Predator? I read somewhere that people were having trouble with the rifle hanging up. I really like the feel of the predator, but don't want it if there is a problem with the design.

I think what your refering to is a few of us had cycling/feed issues with the varminter model. Have yet to here of any problems with the predator. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif The problem with mine was the magazine not grabbing all the way up and the bolt would not pick up the rounds. A new mag from Gander and all is well in Bushland again! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

I just went thru a break in period with my preditor (200) rds and had no problems on feeding. I used some rapid fir at the end and was pleased with the results.

I just got mine back from Bushmaster. I had a cycling problem and it had nothing to do with the mags. as they work in my other two bushmasters. I couldn't figure it out so I sent it back, and a week later I have it back. The repair order states that they had to realign and seal the gas block and they polished the feed ramps, and it test fired OK. So the next calm and half way warm day I'm going to test it out. Other than my problem with cycling I love mine and its very very accurate and I have all ready shot my first ever called in coyote with it. You will be happy with it and if you have problems don't waste time send it back. Bushmaster's customer service is great and the turn around time is quick. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

I love mine. groups mainly around 1/2" +/- Not all day. I don't have that kind of patience. But I am amazed at the accuracy. It is pretty picky about ammo so try a few different types. Loves 55grn ballistic tips. Not a big fan of 60-70 grn soft points or hp. All ammo i tried was at least 1" or better at 100yds except 68gr hp.
