Threading a Tikka

I have a T3x Lite in .223. I love the rifle. However, I hardly ever shoot anything anymore that isn't suppressed. I have done some digging and it seems that I get a lot of mixed answers on threading this rifle.

So...

Does anyone here have any experience threading a T3x Lite in 223? If so, how did it turn out? Accuracy?

I don't have experience with that specific model, but I've threaded a variety of barrels. If the barrel is too thin, you sometimes have to get creative, but a machinist/gunsmith who knows what they are doing should be able to thread it just fine.

I have a T3x in .270 (standard lite contour). Was planning to have it chopped to 20", however, gunsmith forgot to chop and threaded at the standard length. Not much of a collar, but rifle shoots great. More accurate than it was before threading. (sub MOA with typical hunting ammo) Using an Omega 300 on it. Also, rifle chronos over 100 FPS faster with the suppressor.

Gunsmith should have redone the job at no cost but glad it's working for you.

I have a Tikka Lite 22-250 that I had threaded for a Banish 233 suppressor. I’m on the 3rd season with this 22-250 and have zero issues and it shoots great. My gunsmith threaded my Tikka 1/2x28 for a direct thread to my suppressor. Works great, no issues. Your .223 would be fine for 1/2x28 threads.

Just had my T3X Stainless done in 1/2x28. Zero issues. My smith was able to Chuck the entire action in the lathe, so no barrel removal. Those Tikka barrels are tough to break loose.
He did an 11 degree crown and cut to 18 inches. Accuracy is excellent with factory Hornady 55gr Vmax, so good I’ve never tried anything else.

223?

I've threaded 100s
T3 are hard ss no proble with good tooling
If it's short and you end up pulling the barrel
Some time ther hard to get off.
Most are long enough to do threw head stock with out pulling barrel
Thanks Cody
