Tikka T3 .243

I have changed my mind, once again, on what rifle I want. I looked at a Tikka T3 at Cabelas and fell in love with it. It was much lighter than the Remington or Ruger, and the action was smoother and I liked it more as well. I have also heard great things about the triggers. If any of you have one, what do you think of it, and what ammo does yours like, and groups do you get out of it? thanks.

For whatever it's worth to you coming from me, I own several Tikkas, both M595's and T-3's, and they are excellent shooters with very good triggers that are easily adjusted if necessary. One of them is a M595 in 243 Winchester that shoots extremely well for a sporter weight rifle.

All of them will shoot better than MOA for five shots at 100 yards. In my opinion, Tikka's are an excellent purchase and will likley shoot extremely well right out of the box.

Again, FWIW....

I have a T3 Lite in .223, just picked up another in .30-06, have a Camo Stainless on the way in .22-250, and a Tikka Tactical enroute in .308. You could say I'm a fan. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

I have a T3 lite 22-250 and haven't found a factory ammo that doesn't group well. I have shot Win white box, Hornady ballistic tips and Win silver tips. The one I stuck with is UMC 50 gr hp. I can tear ragged holes at 100 yards on a really good day. It did shoot better groups with the better bullets, but for the price I would rather practice more and shoot better groups through practice than through better bullets.

My Tikka T# Lite in .223 has a running average for all ammo tried (except Wolf!) of .91 moa. That includes Win white box and several handloads. The Wolf ammo is the only ammo that shot over moa. I'mm probably going to pick up another in .270 or '06 in the near future.

I have the .243 in the Tikka T3 and love it. It's been scopeless for 6 months now though. It's my coyote gun and will hopefully have a new scope soon. I miss shooting it..

The longest range I have shot at any numbers is 300 yards. It was grouping probably about an 1.5 at that range. I was shooting milk jugs and consistently hit the center when I put the crosshairs on the cap.

I am told my Ithca LSA-55 is a derivative of Tikka, the barrel is stamped bofors steel made in Finland ,however I am not sure.Does anyone have imput on this for me? Its a .243. It to will group under 1" all day long. Soon as the deer season here in southwestern Washington is over you all know where I'll be,trying for my first yote, cause I'm a newbe,ha ha ha And I can hardly wait!

I have used the T3 .243 for the past year and love it. It is my go to gun for coyotes. I shoot 70NBT with 44 grains of varget. 3600fps and grouping 1/2 inch at 100yds. I have shot a few 3/8 inch groups. At 200yds I shoot about 1 inch groups. never shot passed 200 at the range but have confidence shooting coyotes out to 400. Awesome gun. Shoots factory ammo as well. It seemed to like the 85grn BTHP factory ammo as well as 70NBT.

I just picked up a 243 in a T3 blued, my 4th T3.

I really like these rifles. They are not my favourite but I believe that in it's price range you will not find a better value.

All mine are great shooters, I'll find out in a couple of days if the 243 is but I can only assume. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowingsmilie.gif

Cabela's was asking 540 for it, but ableammo.com only wanted 500. I will get mine at Cabela's, as I don't want to wait for the cheap shipping, and it would be higher priced for the shorter shipping. Cabela's also mounts and boresights your scope.
