I love the hogue stock. I have one on my 22 and 7mm. They don't offer them for the Tikka 22-250 any idea on where I can get one for this gun. Rick

Rickyb-

I've got two Tikka's and have been kinda looking for aftermarket stocks myself. I ask a dealer about why the cheezy stocks and his reply was " If they had better stocks, they would be Sako's. Sorry, I can't help you, but if you find some, post it, I'd like one also.

What could be improved?
All mine shoot like crazy, I hunt pretty hard with them, no problems. I have dropped them on rocks, shoot off all kinda rests, drag them around in my truck, and they all shoot little tiny groups and hold zero.
I dont get it, what the heck do you want? I never use mine in combat, wacking somebody over or under the head, I dont stand on it, none have ever failed. In 50 years of hunting I have had 1 one stock break, it was wood. If it aint broke dont fix it.

my thoughts exactly, the stocks actually seem pretty stable for a factory stock and fit the barreled action very very well, thats why they shoot so darn good. I would be worried that any after market stock would not have as good a fit

I like the stock, however, I did design a better grip and will have it on the market soon...

Nice paint scheme.

I went with with a plain two tone look, OD barreled action and a tan stock in Duracoat. It has held up well the last few years.

BTW, this particular Tikka is in 308. Amazing guns.

Never said they don't shoot good, just wish they had a Mcmillian or H.S. stock. I can live with mine the way it is, I just can't seem to leave things alone. By the way Bushy, nice rig you got there. Whats the three little rings on the end of the barrel?

Same here. I just like the feel of the overmolded stock. Never said it wouldn't shoot. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif Rick

Bushy- Are you serious? I'm a sucker for things that make your rifle shoot better. I'll have ten or twelve of them suckers on my barrel if it works. Please explain.

well at the risk of starting a fire...yes, I am serious. by dampening the harmonics of the barrel we then have control of the frequency resonation....we make the barrel more consistant by limiting barrel vibration.

Ruger has played with different dampening theories for years, they used to float the barrel and put one pressure spot towards the end of the forearm, the new mini has a dampening device attached. I have been playing with it for years...does it really make the rifle more accurate?...I feel that it does and as a bonus I have never had to deal with "stringing".

Seems to me this is a thread about something that ain't broke and don't need fixin'. I have 3 synthetic T3's. All shoot very, very well. I don't have bands or feel the need for another stock. The stock is light, rigid and comfortable. That is why I buy these rifles, no aftermarket parts required. Stock is good, barrel is good, trigger is GREAT! Scope mounts are a little suspect on larger cals but that is easily remedied. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. These are not Savage tupperware stocks.
