Does anybody know what the trigger housing 5MM bolt torque spec is for the Tikka T3X?
I cannot seem to find any info ?

I'm pulling it to replace the trigger spring with an Elay.
Thanks

I'm just replacing the trigger spring not the trigger assy.
Yeah, I saw that thread, no way in He11 I would torque the 5mm bolt to 55-65 in lbs.

55 inch pounds is only 4.5 foot pounds. Not really that tight. I've had Tikka triggers in and out a bunch of times and never really worried about torquing them. Just good and snug seems to work just fine, at least for me. I do torque my scope mounts and bases and most of my stock bolts. If it bothers you and feel the need to torque them, use you torque wrench and see how many inch pounds it takes to break them loose.

Well, bust my nuts
That 5mm bolt was at least 60 in. Lbs. tight
I was definitely surprised, didn’t have a bit for the fat wrench, so just gave it a hard wristful.
The Elay trigger spring sits the trigger pull at 1 lb. 14 oz. Consistent.
A great trigger even better for $10.

I put a trigger spring from Mountain Tactical in my T3X Super Lite and it is great. Trigger breaks clean and lite at 1 3/4 pounds.
I do believe the spec is 55 inch pounds and that is what I torqued mine to without any issues and I have had mine apart several times.

Some may cringe, but I usually back out the adjustment screw until it touchs the 5mm screw that holds the trigger to the action. Then if the trigger isn't light enough to suit me, I trim about half a coil off the spring. If I want it lighter, I may trim another half a coil. Usually never more than a half a coil at a time. I get a very crisp light trigger and it is safe. If its to light, then screw the adjustment screw back in a little. I do this on all my Tikka's.

I'm sure the other aftermarket replacement trigger springs for Tikka's are good but like WyoBull I replaced both of mine with springs from Mountain Tactical and I have them set right around 2 lbs.

Mountain Tactical kind of specializes in all things Tikka related. I've ordered a handful of different items from them in the last couple years and talked to one of their Techs about ring height once. They've been great to deal with as well as their products have all served me well.

Dude, bro, how many do you have?

Down to two right now but I've had several in the past. Upgraded to Sako's although there isn't much difference.

Psyco,
Totally get that
If Sako made the S20 in 223, it would be in my hands now.
Looking over the carbon wolf makes me damp....

B23,
The Elay trigger springs are made of corrosion resistant stainless steel as are I believe, the factory spring.
The MT are zinc coated. (Plated)
The trigger assembly is aluminum.
I prefer stainless steel. I don't want anything "plated" that is a wear part in my trigger housing.

But is the pull rate spring in the trigger assembly really a "wear part" per say so I'm not sure under its application it really matters.
