I have a pre-accutrigger model 12 Savage that I would like to replace the trigger on. For those of you guys that have experience with both brands of triggers for the Savage, which one would you reccommend. Ease of installation is a big factor, as I have never done this before. Thanks.

You "got Savage" .......

..... you better head over to the Savageshooters forum.

There are more choices and better ones than you realize!

I have a Savage 112 that started life as a .223 Rem. Shortly after I bought it I bought a Rifle Basic trigger for it. Had it installed in about 20 minutes. Just checked mine with my trigger pull gauge and it breaks at one and a quarter pounds. Yes, I like this trigger quite a bit. Ground squirrels and prairie dogs dont care much for it though.

Many go with the Basic kit, then the others go with whats available from the vendors on the Savage site for more $$.
Tons of info for Savages there VS here even though many of us are both places, that one is more "specific" for your needs.

+1 for Sharp Shooter Supply triggers.

I have a Rifle Basix trigger in one of my Savages and I'm just not as comfortable with its level of safety when adjusted down around a pound of pull. The Sharp Shooter triggers will go down to 10-12oz and don't slam or bump fire like a Rifle Basix will.

+2 on the [beeep] triggers, just be patient on trying to get ahold of them on the phone.

I keep forgetting I get bleeped when I abriviate Sharp Shooters Supply

Good point on the Rifle Basix. I have several of these triggers. The one I have in my Model 12 BVSS is supposed to be adjustable to 1 lb of pull. It's not a hard trigger to install and I really like it but it will slam fire when I adjust it below 1 lb 5 oz. As I said, it's a very nice trigger with no creep or overtravel at all but I think you need a Digital trigger gage to install and it's imperative that you slam the bolt to test it until the pull is sufficient that it will not slam fire and that is not 1 lb as advertised.

Thanks a bunch for the advice guys. I checked out the Sharp Shooter Supply trigger and am going to go that route. The savageshooters.com forum is pretty cool also. Thanks for the heads up on that.

I have a rifle basix in a mark 2 .22
Made a huge improvement over factory but still isnt "right"
Ive messed with adjustment and there is a fine line between good and goes off with safety on.
Unfortunately this is my only option for the mark 2
