Timney Triggers

Hey guys I just ordered a Timney trigger for my new Howa 1500 in 25-06 .I had been trying to order one from somebody like Midway but everybody was sold out and delivery was going to be in late July . Also nobody had the version for stainless rifles .Well I called Timney and it was difficult to get anybody on the phone but I finally got a live one .I wasn't in a real hurry but they made me a stainless trigger (nickle plated )in about 2 weeks . Timney told me that they were not going to supply them anymore and then called back and said they would build me one .I think Timney has a good professional business ethic .They went out of their way to do business with me .I would have to give them first look at any business I do in the future .

Situations like this is the reason that Timney & some other "customer-oriented" companies are still in business. Try calling some of the "Box" stores and getting that kind of service. Ain't gonna happen.

I have been waiting on a return phone call from Timney.

It has only been 4 or 5 years.Don't think they are going to call me. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

Hey 220 Swift I had to call them 4 or 5 times before I got somebody . However , after I got through I got good service . Would you like me to call my new buddies and get you some service ?

Sorry but that is not good service if you have to call them 4 or 5 times.

I had one of their triggers and it did work good.I wanted to talk to them about another trigger. They would never return my call.

I have been in retail auto parts business since 1970 and no one has to beg me to spend their money with me and I will not beg anyone to take my money either.

I have been buying Canjar and Jewell triggers ever since and have not had any problems.

Timney is one of the old aftermarket trigger makers in the US. I bought my first one a long time ago, in the 1960's.

Timney has a dealer network established that sells their triggers to us shooters. I think that buying a Timney trigger is best done from one of the supply houses like Brownell's, Midway, Natchez, or some one else who stocks them. Buying one from Timney is like buying a car directly from Ford.

Yeah that is what I understand.I had a question that their dealer could not answer so they gave me a number to call Timney myself.I did that and could never get them to return my call. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

Hey SuperSeal...what kind of groups are you getting with
your Howa .223? I have one that is driving me crazy. A .6
then the next group might be 1 3/4 inch. Get this: floated
the barrel, no luck. Glass bedded, no luck. Two trigger
jobs, no luck. Recrown the barrel, no improvement. Took
off the Sightron and put on a Leupold, no luck. Installed
a Timney trigger which gives a superb 30 ounce break, no
improvement. Over 300 rounds of load development and it's
still all over the map. I should'a stuck with Remington.
