My wife and I are wanting to pick up a couple trail cams. One we want to get some good picks of the elk on our property and also I'd like to see what allis oout there. My question is what are some good cams? I would also like a time/ date stamp if this isn't standard. I'm just looking for some help from those of you who already have these cams. Thanks for the help guys.

Most of the users seem to like the Cuddeback Capture and the Scoutguard 550 models. Do some searching and check out the reviews.

I am looking at both of these models in the near future.

I have a Moultrie Gamewatcher 4.0 that you can get for right around $100. It takes great pictures and can be set to take daytime video. Date and time stamp come standard on this model. It runs off of 6 d cell batteries I believe but last time I used mine battery life was a little over two months with well over two hundred pictures being taken. Not to mention for the price you would spend on one of the higher end cameras you can buy two or three of these. If interested pm me your email and I can send you some pictures taken with mine. I guess one of the most important things I need to mention I also want to stat around $100 on the unit and sd card compatible. I'm planning on two to three cams purchased in rapid sucetion.

The camera i mentioned in my earlier post is right at a $100 and sd card compatible up to 2 GB i think. The cards I use are 1 GB and on high resolution with my camera will hold just under 1000 pictures.

hi i purchased the predator evolution trail cam.it takes video's and still pic's you don't see the flash and takes a good pic to about 20 t0 25 yards at night, day time is color with a real good pic. the response time is fast and consistent the stealth camera was junk compared to this one.john

check them out at predatortrailcams@msn.com

also service is great. my friend paul bought one the same time as i did amd had it out behind my house and had it set up to close to the ground and a turkey saw his reflection in the motion sensor and pecked a hole in it. his wife sent it in on a Thursday and it was returned on the following sat.i wouldn't expect service like that every time but it was great because it was deer season and we wanted to see what buck's were in the area

I have 2 Moultre cameras both with flash and no infrared that take great pictures day and night and also videos. My brother has a moultre I40 (infrared) with infrared video at night and it is really good. He has gotten videos of bears, coyotes, and bobcats with his. Mine were under $150, both from Cabela' and his was $249 from Cabela's. My next camera will be infrared. I have read reviews that suggest to stay away from Bushnell and Stealth because of multiple problems. Both of these units are inexpensive and can be purchased from wally world (and also taken back if there is a problem) but both have a bad reputation. All cameras take memory cards and these cards are becoming very affordable. I also have a card reader attachment for my computer and that makes downloading the pictures a real snap.

i have a moultrie D-40.got it from walmart for just under 100 bucks.i bought 2 memory cards for it.one is a 256mb that holds just under 250 pics.the other is a 1gb that holds almost 1000 pics.the battery life is pretty good, except for cold weather it's not as good.i just quit using mine through the coldest part of winter.it takes good pics day or night.all in all for the money i've been very happy. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

I agree with skeet on the MoultrieI40.
Tons of battery life, infra red, and takes really good pics.
