I have been doing some calling at night near my house just to see whats out there and twice I have called up this black coyote. After saving scraps and bad shoulder from this years deer I thought I'd set out my tree cam and see if I could get him on camera.
Last night I set it up and got several shots of him. These are the best two so far. I will have to pull the cam tomorow night as I have it set up on the edge of a developement and dont want anyone to discover it and get ideas.. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif If I get more I will post them as well.

i think i might have to shoot that guy, that would be one to get mounted....or at least tan the hide.
on the way home from the deer lease this morning i saw what was either a black coyote or a dog someone shot and hung on the fence...sure looked like a yote to me, i might have to stop and take a closer look next time out.

Shoot that thing.... Is it eating on something????

Nice pics. I might have get one of those trail cameras sometime. It would helpl to catch the dog crapping in my yard.

By looking at the timer on the photos, I'd put together an early morning stand at first light and get him. Very pretty coyote and great pictures!

I'd love to get him, but these pics were taken just inside city limits, and for some reason they get wierd about that sort of thing....I'm thinkin being sneaky with the bow might be in order... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-006.gif

I don't know about you guys, but here in WI I'd guess that as a timber wolf. His legs seem long for a coyote, and the black coloration is typical in wolves here anyway. I'm not say for sure, but something to make sure of.

Merry Christmas,

Steve

Find out which city councilmen/councilwomen have pets . . . and show them the pictures. Offer to "save" their little snookems from the big bad coyotes. You might be surprised at their response if they think their shitzu is in danger from these evil beasts, lol. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif You might be able to talk them into a one-time permit to rid the town of such savage, puppy munching terror dogs. Of course, more coyotes will come and you'll be getting calls to exterminate them, but you'll just have to live with that chore. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I pulled the tree cam sunday....they had already got the ribcage un-wired from the log by then anyways....here are the last pics i got of the black....

I jsut got a Non-typical trail cam for Christmas. Can't wait to put it out. Hope I get pics as good as that.

I thought about borrowing one from a buddy, and setting it up on a cow carcus to get an idea when they were coming through. Here we can hunt at night, and we got some relief on the city limit issue this year as well. It has to do with the size of the property. 10 acres and you can use a shotgun, 50 you can use a rifle. Of course there are other restrictions and common since that go along with it. Another break we get is a "landowner or his agent" can kill anything that is depredating his "livestock".
