I was looking at triggers for my ar and was looking at the timney 3 lb, first is this a good choice?
second the skeletonized timney 3# is $239 and the solid timney 3# is $189. what is the diffrence between the two? is it worth the money to get the skeletonized?
thanx for all your guys help if this has been answered please direct me to that post.

The Timney single stage 3# drop in is a great trigger. Easy to install and just about right for hunting trigger IMO.

Only difference between skeletonized trigger and standard is looks. The standard trigger is solid, skeletonized trigger is not.

Excellent triggers. I bought the skeletonized 3 lbr just for the bling factor. It installed very easy and breaks very cleanly, it's the best $200 I've spent on AR's yet.

Hey JC...

I have both the Timney trigger styles you mentioned. Looks aside, the only difference I've seen is that the skeletonized version is slightly more curved and more centered in the trigger guard. Where the solid, still curved, is a flatter "blade" style, set a bit farther back in the trigger guard.

I'm no photographer, but if you'd like, I could try to post pics of each for comparison...

Since we can't post a particular site where to get them and help a fellow (and potentially others) PM member out, I'll send you a PM.

As an alternative, I've had good results with a Chip McCormick drop-in trigger,,, Easy to install and consistent pull.

Is this a new rule? I didn't know it was a no-no.

There is no such rule. You can post a link to where to buy something.

I posted a link to Dan's website and venatic deleted it and sent me a PM with a note saying it wasn't allowed on this site. He was polite in his note and I complied. I didn't realize that the guys name can't even be typed in a PM. I have no clue on the history but it seems kind of silly to me.
