Trijicon Acog

Yote Country

New member
Has anyone used an acog to coyote hunt before. I was looking into one and noticed that the magnifier on it went out to 600 meters and that plenty far enough for me to touch a yote. I like how much light they bring in compared to all of the other high end scopes. one article that i read online said that the acog brings in 98% of the light through its first lens and out the other where as a mark 4 only does 88%. this low light will greatly increase my dawn and dusk hunts. If you have any advice at all i would more than love to hear it...

I am using an ACOG TA02 LED 4X32mm on both my FLIR Thermals and it is simply an outstanding instrument. Lightweight, great reticule, 8 levels of lighting if you need it at dawn or dusk, super clear glass, no adjustments except for elevation and windage, indestructible, very accurate.

I also run a Truijicon RMR 3.5MOA Red Dot on top too:

Just my .02

Having looked at the ACOG and other optics I think for the price you would be better served by a 1-4 or 1-6 for the same price.

While they probably aren't as "tough" as the ACOG I think having the ability to use a true 1x on the bottom as well as decent eye relief and eye box trumps the ACOG for a hunting rifle.

As far as light gathering ability I think if you put the same amount of money towards another scope you will get good results.

Google Vortex Razor II 1-6 and read the reviews (street price is around 1350.00 which is close to an ACOG + RMR) I think going for something like that would be hard to beat.

I have a buddy who uses an ACOG. He misses a lot, and is going to retire it in favor of a hunting scope, which will cost a lot less than the $1400 ACOG price tag.
