We cannot provide a blockade indefinitely, month by month he'll lose support from the American people because of high oil/gas/ & grocery prices, he can't turn the place to a sheet of glass, boots on the ground is not palatable, and air strikes will never totally bring them to their knees. Economic pressure will work to an extent providing actually how effective it MIGHT be. The destruction of Kharg Island seems a viable choice, but what are the consequences of that? It's doubtful much will happen without a regime change, BUT how will that be implemented? Could we pull out, say to heck with it, and bomb their next nuke facility? It's no doubt quite the quandary!
