TSS 12 gauge

Those of you using TSS 12 gauge for coyotes, what choke constriction do you find best. I see one guy on the net with some fantastic patterns using 670 Kicks. That is really tight for hard shot. My 713 Carlson is ok but nothing to brag about, my Patternmaster was nothing short of disaster, again, what works for you ? I’m using a Beretta 391

Shotguns can be such one offs. And variables in what size TSS. And what kind of pattern you want. I'd never say what I like on my shotgun is necessarily going to be best for anyone else.

But me, the patterns I want, for my M2 the way it patterns, my TSS loads, .055 restriction is the ticket for TSS in #2, #3 and #4. Using a GT .670.

Agree with DAA, it is unfortunate but unless you get lucky it seems to be a matter of trial and error. Kind of sucks burning through rounds to find a choke that works well, but once you do it is confidence inspiring.
I am to the point now that I pretty much only take a shotgun with me, last winter I never shot a coyote with a rifle, shotgun only.

DAA, your site was what I was referring too. Did a little more research on your site and found a little more informative information. Great site you have, really enjoy your travel videos. About 55 years ago lived in the Sierra Nevadas and enjoyed scrounging around the desert. I am not new to shotguns, chokes and load development. Zcustom, thanks for your reply, but I’m not asking for advice as to what my gun needs, was simply asking others what works for them, again thx

I'm shooting about the same amount of constriction as Dave. My old Benelli M1 & Kick's GT .670" gets it done with what few Remington HD-BB I have left, 3" No. Four Buck and a little stash of TSS #4,#3 and #2's that I have.

An additional bonus is that the same choke, Kick's GT .670", works great with 3" Hevi 13 #6's for turkey hunting. And I have killed more than a few coyotes that come to the turkey calls with those old Hevi 13 loads. Head shots hammer coyotes out to 30 yards with the denser than lead H13 pellets. The way my gun patterns those #6's there are about 180 pellet strikes in 10" @ 40 yards at point of aim. Gobbler or coyote, head shots can't be shaken off when hit with that load. A turkey load of TSS #7.5 or #8 from a 3" 12 gauge would be even more devastating on the receiving end.

Wanting to say Beretta has similar bore to Benelli. If so, same (or close) restriction as GC and myself are using. No telling until you pattern it, but, I'd bet a very small amouunt that it works well.

And, the Kicks GT is a really nice, well made choke. I tried one totally off of GC's patterning magnum opus.

I tested a Kick's GT .670 and .680 (about 0.060 & 0.050 constriction respectively) in my Rem 870. Hard to tell which shot better. I just used the .680 for everything, TSS, #2 lead, #4buck, DC T-shot, etc. I don't use my 12g much anymore, but it seemed to do pretty ok.
