Two down…

Two down and only 30 more to go, lol. I’ve been working on this sounder on this property for a while. I’ve gotten all the adults and a couple young ones but this was by far the largest sounder I’ve ever seen down here.
Here’s the video and yes I wasn’t even “in the same zip code” as CJ told me on the second shot. First kill was about 75yds through the shoulder and second kill was about 125yds or so through the neck. These are the 110gr Varmageddons.

Was shooting the 168gr CoreLokts and had bought these for coyotes. When I swapped scopes to the new .243 I just figured I’d set up the SFAR for these and see how they performed. So far, no issues.
I’ll be honest, hogs seem easier to actually put down and kill than our deer, especially on shot placement.

Nice going, Mark. I’ve not personally shot VG’s, but I’ve heard they’re not great on even coyotes, with splashing and runners being a common occurrence. You seem to be crushing pigs with them though! Maybe all that I’ve heard is from piss poor shooters! Lol…

Congratulations on a couple more!

What’s crazy is I get a lot of “kicking” after the shot, but they’re anchored on the spot and give it up rather quickly. Even the big boar that ran from a previous video didn’t make it 50yds and that was an angling away shot.
Another cool thing is when shooting suppressed, you know whether you hit them or not just from the “thump” you hear whether you watch them fall or not.

I’m like HM. I would never have considered Varmageddons for hogs, but results speak for themselves.
