Two DRTs at distance

Duhhh

I’ll start by saying I didn’t plan to shoot this far but the wind switched and I didn’t want to educate these coyotes on a smaller portion of this property.

Took my wife calling and trying to get her some thermal calling success. The weather man was wrong again and the conditions were completely different when we got out to this property. The night was absolutely dead until this last ditch effort stand.

Called three out of a creek bottom but they wouldn’t commit. Finally got two riled up with some challenge barks. Thought they’d work right into our lap and be an easy shot for my wife, who was on the new Seekins AR-10 with a Nox 18. At about 400 yards out, I could feel the wind shift hard and turn right towards the closest one. Unfortunately I had to take care of the shooting but I’m pretty happy with the outcome. Standing off the tripod to boot.

This Nocpix H50R and 22 creedmoor shooting a 53 vmax @4070fpd has been a killer combination.

Thanks guys. I definitely practiced a lot with this combo in the off season and built this rifle for a dedicated thermal gun. Especially for the long shots we routinely get presented out here. Last year I would have watched those coyotes run away.

This particular piece of land I got access to wants dead coyotes by any means. As long as I keep killing out there, I’ll get exclusive access to the land.

Excellent showing, Duhhh! If there’s anyone that can make the long shot, I’m putting my money on you buddy!

My wife’s only connection to my outdoor hunting adventures is her willingness to put up with my endless obsession with it. She’s also an excellent cook and works miracles with the stuff that is worthy of table fare! Lol…
