I just ordered this light, batteries for it, and parts to mount it to my MOE forend on the AR. It seemed to get positive reviews online as far as throwing light and whatnot, but I didn't really come across anything saying it was a great hunting light.

Am I going to be happy with this light(at least as a starter), or will I want more right off the bat? It'll be used as a kill light, 200 yards and less.
 
White LED, orange peel reflector. I know the value of a red or green light, but the price was right haha. I read accounts from several forum sites and watched some YouTube.
 
How much more right could the price be??? The red 501B is $10.40.

You'd get more throw with a smooth reflector or an aspheric lense.

It's one of the most common lights around and comes in many variations.
