Where can I find one? I see a few on the auction sites. Have never had one. What are the pros and cons of those that have tried them?
Ragn...
Did you get the pictures I e-mailed you.
The pros are they have the best optics around - better than current stuff.
You NEVER have to worry about if the turrets are tracking - no "box test", no nuttin'. You dial it, you get it.
The bad side is that they are fragile and they are not water proof.
I have nine Unertls and one Lyman Super Targetspot.
I have never had them fog, but I don't take them out in the rain either. If caught in a sun shower while chucking, I just toss something over the scope until it stops - if it doesn't stop, I'm gone anyway so it's no problem.
Consider that these two scopes are responsible for 90%+ of the enemy kills in WW-2 and Viet Nam, so they can't be THAT fragile.
For Varmint riffles, like crows, chucks, and PDs... they are the ultimate scope.
And they have a special "class" that just exudes all over the place.
Kinda like drivin' a 1948 Rolls Royce, or a Jaguar split window 120-MC... (with the top down!)

You get the scope, and I'll give you the bases!
