Upgraded Foxpro TX-200 Remote Control

We are also having some intermitent issues with thew new remote. When playing a sound and then pushing a pre-set button one of a few things could happen. Either the current sound will increase/decrease to the level of the pre-set sound or the pre-set sound will start at the level of the previous sound. If I push the pre-set button twice it will usually end up with the sound and volume level that I set it at. Kind of a pain in the rear. Hopefully we can get it figured out or fixed.

Have experienced that myself.

Me 3, I had to move around some of my sounds so that I didn't start out with howling dogs! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif
I've got used to it but it can be aggravating.

Hey Guys,

I want to get to the root of this phenomenon.

Can you please give me the model number of the caller that this happening on i.e. FX5 or Scorpion and the software version in the TX-200? The TX-200 software revision can be found on the "turn on" screen in the bottom right hand corner of the LCD display.

If you could PM me the Serial numbers of the units as well that way we can look for any possible common thread.

Can you tell what happens in this scenario?

If you are playing a rabbit distress at a very high volume and then you switch to a preset that has another sound at a very low volume what happens? Does the caller change the sound or the volume? Does this happen at all distances i.e. close or far range?

Thanks,
Steve

Steve, I have pup distress 2 as my preset 1. I have it programmed at about 3/4 volume. If I am playing say a rabbit sound at half volume and then press preset 1, the first thing that happens is the volume increases but the sound doesn't change. If I press preset 1 again, the sound then changes to pup distress 2 at the set volume.

crapshoot,
If I may add to your comment,
When I press a preset it doesn't always inrease the volume, it goes to that preset's volume.

When I turn my call on & press any preset 1 time it will usually play sound #000 at the volume level of the preset that I pushed. If I press the preset a second time it will go to the correct sound & correct volume. This happens most every time when I am going from preset to preset, it doesn't happen when I select the sounds with the control knob.

I don't think the distance matters, it has done it with me at every distance that I have used it, 0 - 75 yards.

It's no real big deal, I've gotten used to it but I would like to know if it could be fixed.

My call is a scorpion. I will get my serial # when I get home from work.

I've had the same thing happen intermittently also. I figured it was some of that ground interference mentioned early on causing one part of the command not to get there. I almost always set my caller on the ground.
I have mine in for repair/large font upgrade/red background upgrade. Wanted to get it done and ready for the end of deer season, Jan 1.

FoxproSteve - My buddy has the call, it is a Scorpion. He has a call in to the "home office" and it is being looked into. (Gotta love the Foxpro customer service!)

So for your example posted above...

Upon pushing the pre set, one of a couple things has happened. I have had the original sound (rabbit) lower the volume to the same level as the pre set and I have had the pre set sound (say woodpecker at low volume) start at the high volume of the original/previous sound.

When practicing in the house, most of the time the switch to pre set worked fine, but with bird distress pre sets we had a coyote vocalization fire off with out being a pre set.. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif ?Confused?

We went out and made a few stands with rabbit and bird distress and had both the sound/volume level/preset issue at most of the set ups. The distances were from 5 feet to maybe 40 yards.

Thanks for looking into this. Let us know what you find out.

Hey All,

We were able to duplicate the scernario here. It affects the Scorpions far more the the FX5s.

The "fix" is being implemented this morning on production units and it will be version 3.3 on the transmitter.

If your caller exhibits this phenomenon you can send your TX-200 in for reprograming.

Best Regards,

Steve

Hi Steve I just orderd my scorpion this morning, will this issue be fixed before my unit ships or will i have to send it back for reprogramming as soon as i get it?
thanks
Dan

Great News Steve /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif thanks for the fast reply /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowingsmilie.gif

Foxprosteve, is there a way to identify the remote's that need the upgrade? I've got A scorpion on back order at AP calls that are due in the 18-20th. Would these be the older units?

Hope mine gets the new code while in for repair/upgrade!
That would be great to get all that done with only one shipping cost! I knew I was waiting about that repair for a reason. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
