Hi all.
When I started hunting at night I also used a red filter on my light force 170 mounted on my scope. I had difficulty to see my target clearly through the scope. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
I had a dimmer in stalled on the light force and I tested it on Saturday night.
The first animal I tested it on was a Duiker (Small) antelope. I first used the full power of the light and the Duiker was frightened away. I then used the dimmer switch with a dim light I could clearly see the Duiker and I brightened the beam to almost full power. This time the Duiker was not bothered by the light. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif
The next test would be when I was calling jackal. The first two stands were unsuccessful but at the third stand the jackal were so quick I almost missed them.
By using the dimmer I now have a white light to shoot with and be able to do accurate shot placement and the animals are not bothered by the light if you turn it up slowly. I am also able to identify animals a very long way away. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif
Another bonus for me is that I now extend my hunting time. By using the dimmer on the light my battery also last much longer. For me it is a win win situation. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-006.gif
